Abstract

One of the most important components of the economy of any country, including Iran, is the industry sector, which is made up of various sub-sectors. The oil sanctions imposed against Iran have directly and indirectly targeted the industrial sector due to the important role it plays in economic growth and development. In this research, in order to investigate the impact of oil sanctions and JCPOA on the position of the industry sector and industrial sub-sectors in Iran's economy, respectively, by applying the theory of complex networks, three 9-sector networks including the industry sector, related to before Applying oil sanctions (1380), after the application of oil sanctions (1390) and after the signing of JCPOA (1395), three networks of 49 sectors were formed, including industrial sub-sectors, related to It is considered before the application of oil sanctions, after the application of oil sanctions and after the signing of the JCPOA. In this research, using centrality criteria, an approach is presented to determine the effect of sanctions and JCPOA on the relationship between the industry sector and its sub-sectors with other sectors in Iran's economy. According to the obtained results, sanctions and JCPOA have not had a significant effect on the position of the industry sector. In addition, the findings show that the impact of sanctions and JCPOA on industrial sub-sectors is not the same. The most important and fundamental industrial sector of Iran is examined every three years, the food and beverage production sector, whose importance in the economic network has decreased after the imposition of sanctions and increased after the signing of the JCPOA.
