Journal History

The scientific-research journal (bi-monthly) Regional Economy and Development is one of the three titles of a new publication that branched out from the former science-research journal Knowledge and Development in 2011 and its first issue was published at the beginning of 2012. This bi-quarterly magazine publishes specialized articles in the field of economics (issues related to the development of the internal regions of the country and the countries of the region) that have not been published so far. Therefore, all experts and respected professors who have prepared articles in this field are invited to cooperate.

This publication has a scientific-research accreditation with the permission of the Scientific Publications Commission of the country. Based on the approval of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, all publications with the "scientific-research" grade were renamed to "scientific" publications from 2019.

Field of Study

Regional Economy and Development Journal accepts specialized articles in the field of economics (issues related to the development of the internal regions of the country and regional countries) that have not been published so far.

Open Access Policy

Regional Economy and Development Journal is an open-access journal, meaning all content is freely available to users or their institutions without charge. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles or use them for any other lawful purpose without requiring prior permission from the publisher or author.

This journal provides immediate access to its content based on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global knowledge exchange.

The source of the publication

Ferdowsi University of Mashhad as the publisher, by paying the defined budget for each printed issue of the journal (according to the rank of the journal in the annual evaluation that is announced on the portal of the scientific publications of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology), the related costs include setting up and maintaining the infrastructure of the journal, the process Provides review, refereeing, editing, pagination and archiving of articles.

Another financial source of this journal is the fee received from authors whose articles are accepted for publication in the journal. This source of income has no influence on the decision of the editorial board members.

Article Processing Charge (APCs)

There is no charge for submitting or reviewing articles. However, if the article is accepted, the author(s) must pay 4,000,000 Rials to cover a part of the editing and publishing costs, online to the account of the Vice President for Research and Technology of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad.

Discount Policy for Publishing Articles

Since this journal only charges for accepted articles, it has no discount policy.

Direct marketing

There is no direct marketing activity in this publication.

Paper Plagiarism Checker

To prevent plagiarism the Journal of Regional Economy and Development uses the Hamyab system as a similarity checker tool for the Persian articles and the iThenticate system for the extended English abstract. Before sending to the reviewers, all articles are checked for any similarity, and if the percentage of similarity is more than 20%, the article will be withdrawn from the review process.

The Names and Email addresses entered in this journal’s website will be used exclusively for the purposes of publishing the Journal and will not be available to any other person or organization.

Website Archiving

The articles published in the journal are archived in two ways: the PDF version of all the articles is online and available to readers of the journal's website. The backup copy of the articles is kept on the computer of the journal office. If a problem occurs on the journal's website and the information on the articles is lost, each article will be republished online on the journal's website in less than 24-36 hours.

Indexing databases

The primary information and abstracts of articles published in the Journal of Regional Economy and Development are indexed in several databases. Also, in addition to the original information, the PDF version of all the articles is archived in the "Islamic World Science Citation Database" (ISC) and "Iran Scientific Journal System".

Self-Archiving

Authors may archive the final published version of their articles in personal or institutional repositories immediately after publication.

Acknowledgements

The authors should mention and acknowledge the centers or people who have been influential in the formation of the research. Also, if necessary, the financial interests of the research are mentioned in this section and are acknowledged.
